Infographics and Flyers

The Importance of the visual arts

Timeframe: 2016

Objective/ goal: Create an infographic for a topic of your choice.

Background/ About: This project came at a time when budgets for education were being cut especially for the visual arts. Unfortunately the visual arts are not considered esscencial to a majority and I wanted to create the graphic to highlight and inform that they are more important than one may realize. I choose a very graphic and bright design to reflect the topic. I used stroke decorations to create the "brush strokes" for the graphs.

The Atlantic Puffin

Timeframe: 2018

Objective/ goal: Research your assigned bird then create an infographic to inform and educate.

Background/ About: We were assigned a specific bird randomly by pulling it from a bucket! I was not familiar with the Atlantic Puffin and was initially not excited about the topic. However while I researched and completed the objective for this assignment I found that I really enjoyed learning about this awesome bird and it was a fun assignment.

Berlin to Tokyo

Timeframe: 2018

Objective/ goal: Create an infographic highlighting two places you'd like to visit.

Background/ About: Two places I'd like to visit are Berlin, Germany and Tokyo, Japan. I love history but also like to explore futuristic ideas and tools. Berlin and Tokyo both share the duality of advancement while preserving it's history. I wanted the infographic to feel like a passport and used image trace to create the "stamps".

Bee Unique Poster- Cyber Security Contest

Timeframe: 2019

Objective/ goal: Create a flyer to promote good cyber security habits/ practices.

Background/ About:  This flyer was created in cooperation with the Computer Science department to create a poster that promote good cyber security practices. St. Ambrose's mascot is the "Fighting Bees" and I am never one to turn down a good pun so I played with using unique characters for passwords and played on the visual pun of a key being the "key" as a password.

I was the winner of the contest and recieved a $50 gift card to the book store!

Concert Poster

Timeframe:

Objective/ goal: Create a flyer for a mock history of chair design exhibit.

Background/ About:  This flyer is for a mock "history of chair design" exhibition. I feel that midcentury furniture is very architectural and become the art itself while also being functional. I choose a hanging bubble chair for it's vertical roundeness to contract the square horizonal format of the flyer.

Concert Poster

Timeframe:2017

Objective/ goal: Create a poster for a concert.

Background/ About:  This is a poster for a fictional concert .

I loved this project as I love music and going to concerts. My favorite genre of music is Heavy Metal;  shortened to metal.  I had a lot of ideas and actually had a difficult time deciding from the initial thumbnail sketches!

At the time, my favorite bands were Slipknot, Ghost, and Bring Me The Horizon—each known for their intense performances and powerful visuals. I imagined my dream concert featuring all three, and from that vision, the "Killpop Tour" was born. The name was inspired by Slipknot’s track “Killpop” from their album Vol. 5: The Gray Chapter, which was my favorite song off the album that this poster was promoting.
